Progress: Week 2
This week in our Honors English 103 class, the Advertising Committee is mainly continuing our work to make creative, informative advertisements about our service project with the armed forces. The members in our group: Brandon, Savan, Kristina, and I are still currently brainstorming and designing layouts for flyers. Brandon has proceeded to make seven different designs for the flyers. We plan to design a variety of flyers that will appeal to all ages of people. http://www.creativebloq.com is a website that has hundreds of eye-catching and inspiring flyer templates and designs. The flyers will be placed all over campus. The flyers can be placed in all of the different learning halls, dining halls, student residency halls, and possibly even on car windshields. Furthermore, I have created a Twitter account for all of our announcements pertaining to our service project to be advertised on. The following link will take you to the previously stated webpage: http://www.Twitter.com/EH103_. Also, the Advertising Committee will be using the Facebook account that was set up by another classmate to post announcements. The social networking sites are to be used to expand our outreach on being able to get the word out about our project. Anyone in the class who has information that they would like to be announced are asked to submit their information to the Advertisement Committee so we can update the advertisements as well as the social networking sites. As posters from fellow classmates are brought in, Kristina and I will begin to design them. The posters will be placed at local businesses as well as the donation sites. The posters will act as a larger, more appealing take on the small flyers. For example, if the Donation Committee does, in fact, decide to set up donation sites at shopping centers such as Wal-Mart and Winn-Dixie, as customers come out their attention needs to be captured in order to draw them to the table where the donation volunteers are set up. Also, we are still planning to get advertisments up on the LED screen in front of the Theron Montgomery Building, on the Jacksonville State University campus radio station, as well as The Chanticleer newspaper. To make all of these advertisements and announcements possible, the Advertising Committee will need to interact with several different committees such as the Liason Committee and the Donation Committee. We will need to ask these committees a few very significant questions. The Advertising Committee will need to speak with the Donation Committee to determine where the donation sites will be located, when the donation drives will be taking place, and what items are needed to be donated. The Advertising Committee will also need to interact with the Liason Committee to see if it is possible to get advertisements on the LED screen in front of the TMB, as well as on the campus radio station and newspaper.
